Send WordPress forms to Google Sheets

Add a contact or signup form to WordPress that saves straight to Google Sheets, with no plugin.

  1. 1

    Get your sheet and access key ready

    Create a Google Sheet (headers are optional: we'll add a column for each field) and share it with this address as an Editor:

    sheetcapture@appspot.gserviceaccount.com

    Copy the sheet ID from its URL (the part between /d/ and /edit), and your access key from your account page. No account yet? Start free.

  2. 2

    Add a Custom HTML block

    In the block editor, add a Custom HTML block to any page or post and paste in the form.

    <form action="https://www.sheetcapture.com/add-row" method="POST">
      <input type="hidden" name="GoogleSheetID" value="YOUR_SHEET_ID" />
      <input type="hidden" name="AccessKey" value="YOUR_ACCESS_KEY" />
      <input type="hidden" name="_redirect" value="https://your-site.com/thanks" />

      <label>Name <input name="Name" required /></label>
      <label>Email <input type="email" name="Email" required /></label>
      <label>Message <textarea name="Message"></textarea></label>
      <button type="submit">Send</button>
    </form>
  3. 3

    Create a thank-you page

    Publish a page such as /thanks and use its full URL as the _redirect value.

  4. 4

    Update and test

    Update the page, submit the form once, and check your sheet.

Embedded forms use your site's fonts but no other styling. Add a class to the form and style it with your own CSS, or paste a <style> block above the form.

Anything in a web page, including hidden fields, can be seen by visitors. Your access key can only add rows and use your plan's requests, but only embed it on sites you control.
